Five Altoona student-athletes voted to AMCC Fall Sportsmanship Team

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. — Penn State Altoona student-athletes representing the department’s five fall sports teams were voted to the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Fall All-Sportsmanship Team by their peers, as the league office announced the recognition on Dec. 12.

All teams that compete for an AMCC championship select one member from each of their rosters who displays good sportsmanship throughout the season to be included on the All-Sportsmanship team. These individuals are selected by a vote of their teammates.

The student-athlete selected by each team must consistently demonstrate a high level of ethical conduct, respect, and fair play in both practice and competition, whether on the sidelines or as an active competitor. Such sportsmanship shall be evident toward teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, and fans. The player also must serve as a positive representative of school spirit when a spectator at other teams' sporting events.

The five Penn State Altoona fall sport student-athletes voted to the AMCC All-Sportsmanship team by their teammates are:

  • Women’s Volleyball: Abigail Brinker, of Lock Haven
  • Men’s Golf: Nicholas Helsley, of Altoona
  • Women’s Tennis: Abigail Morgan, of Orrville, Ohio
  • Men’s Soccer: Jonathan Hill, of Spring Grove
  • Women’s Soccer: Hannah Brubaker, of San Diego, California
