ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn State Altoona utility player Cameryn Feathers of Martinsburg was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Player of the Week in softball on Monday, March 13. Feathers had a strong week at the plate for the Lions in her team’s final six games in the Myrtle Beach-area Fastpitch Dreams Spring Classic.
In games against Alvernia University and Ursinus College last Monday, Feathers combined to go 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles, two runs scored, two walks, and one hit by pitch. On Wednesday, in games against Ursinus and Immaculata University, she finished the day with a 5-for-8 performance at the plate with three runs batted in, two runs scored, one home run, and one double. Feathers finished her week by combining to go 2-for-8 with three RBI, three runs scored, and two home runs against Bridgewater State University and Centenary University on Thursday.
On the week, Feathers hit .474 (9-for-19) with seven runs scored, six RBI, three home runs, three doubles, two walks, and one hit by pitch. She posted a .545 on-base percentage and slugged 1.105.
This season, Feathers currently leads the AMCC in batting average (.560), slugging percentage (1.120), home runs (3), and total bases (28) while being second in on-base percentage (.621) and third in hits (14), doubles (3), triples (1), and RBI (7).
This is Feathers’ second career AMCC Player of the Week selection, and it is her first this season.
Penn State Altoona softball is 4-4 this season. The Lions continue their schedule this Thursday, March 16, with a doubleheader against non-conference opponent Bethany College starting at 3 p.m.
