Altoona’s Caden Traggiai gets AMCC Men’s Swimmer of the Week honor

NORTH BOSTON, N.Y. — For the second time this season, Penn State Altoona student-athlete Caden Traggiai, of Sarver, was chosen as the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference’s Men’s Swimmer of the Week, the league office announced on Monday, Oct. 28.

Traggiai played a big role in the Lions’ 144-118 victory over non-conference opponent Saint Vincent College on the road last Friday. He notched a pair of individual wins, placing first in the 200 Yard Freestyle by finishing in 1:49.55 and prevailing in the 500 Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:04.35. He also had a third-place finish in the 200 Yard IM, during which he clocked in at 2:09.40.

Additionally, Traggiai was part of the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay team that took third place with a combined time of 1:37.47.

The Penn State Altoona men’s swimming team, which is 1-0-1 in dual meets this season, returns to action on Saturday, Nov. 2, traveling to face non-conference foe McDaniel College at 11 a.m.
