ALTOONA, Pa. — Penn State Altoona student-athlete Sarah Petry, of St. Benedict, earned second-team All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference (AMCC) status in the 200-yard freestyle swim, as the league office announced its postseason awards on Wednesday, Feb. 28.
Spots on the AMCC All-Conference team are determined by swimmers’ finishes during the conference championships earlier this month, held February 14–17. A first-place finish within the AMCC gives a swimmer first-team all-conference status, while a second-place finish leads to second-team status.
Petry took second-team All-AMCC honors in the 200-yard freestyle thanks to her performance during night three of the AMCC championships on Friday, Feb. 16. She finished as the conference runner-up with a time of 1:59.60.
Penn State Altoona women’s swimming finished the AMCC Championships in third place with a team scoring total of 469 points.
