Altoona professor named to Pennsylvania Historic Preservation Board

ALTOONA, Pa. — Brian Black, distinguished professor of history and environmental studies at Penn State Altoona, was recently approved by Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf to serve a two-year term on the state’s 15-member state Historic Preservation Board.

This board considers things such as historic sights and properties for recognition on the U.S. Historical Register, which includes more than 3,500 sites in Pennsylvania. The board's members include archaeologists, architects, and historic preservation professionals.
