Barron's Veterans Day blog highlights Penn State’s commitment to those who serve

A virtual Veterans Day Ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. followed by other military appreciation events throughout the day

On Veterans Day, flags line the Penn State Veterans Plaza at University Park. The plaza, a gift of the Class of 2011, honors all University veterans, including the late Lt. Michael P. Murphy. On Veterans Day, Penn State President Eric Barron thanks past and current military members and discusses the University’s commitment to service members, veterans and their families. Along with year-round educational resources and support, Penn State is hosting its ninth annual Military Appreciation Week through Nov. 14.

Today's (Nov. 11) events feature a virtual Veterans Day Ceremony at 11 a.m. honoring the service and sacrifice of all who serve or have served in the U.S. Armed Forces, followed by a series of virtual programming for Penn State and other community members throughout the day.
