Barron, Penn State leaders to discuss COVID response at Aug. 3 Town Hall

Event to cover a range of topics, including Delta variant, changes in health and safety procedures, University’s approach to new academic year

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State President Eric Barron and University leaders will convene a virtual Town Hall event at 4 p.m. on Aug. 3 to provide the campus community with updates ahead of the new academic year and information on the University’s ongoing response to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

The hourlong event will be livestreamed on LiveEvents.psu.edu, and archived online for later viewing. 

Joining Barron for the Town Hall will be:

  • Nick Jones, executive vice president and provost; 

  • Damon Sims, vice president for Student Affairs; 

  • Lorraine Goffe, vice president for Human Resources; and

  • Kelly Wolgast; director of the Penn State COVID-19 Operations Control Center. 

The panel will discuss a number of topics, including the impact of the Delta variant, changes in health and safety procedures and protocols for the fall, the University’s approach to the academic year and other topics related student, faculty and staff questions. 

Since the start of the pandemic, Penn State leaders have hosted numerous town hall events. All of those events have been archived on the LiveEvents.psu.edu and are available for viewing.
