UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State’s School of Public Policy will present a series of webinar presentations about the master of public policy (MPP) degree. Sessions will be offered monthly throughout the fall semester.

Webinar presentations will focus on curriculum, career options for graduates, the application process and program requirements. Each live session will last 60 minutes and will include time for questions from attendees.

The webinar schedule is:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 11 a.m.
  • Tuesday, Oct. 8, at 11 a.m.
  • Tuesday, Nov. 5, at 11 a.m.
  • Wednesday, Dec. 4, at noon

Chris Witko, associate director of the Penn State School of Public Policy and professor of public policy and political science, will host each session.

“Good policy requires people who know how policy impacts people and who can design new approaches to some of our major social challenges,” Witko said, adding that the webinar gives him the opportunity to explain who should pursue a master’s degree in public policy. “The MPP degree is for students who want to analyze public problems and recommend improvements to help execute good policy.”

The MPP program, established in 2018, is open to students from any major who are interested in public policy advocacy. The program’s first cohort includes students with a variety of undergraduate degrees including journalism, anthropology, history, criminology, political science, and sociology.

Online registration is required; the streaming link will be provided upon registration. To learn more about Penn State’s School of Public Policy, visit publicpolicy.psu.edu or email publicpolicy@psu.edu.
