UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Students in the College of Engineering will display their capstone design projects at the Student Design Project Showcase from 1 to 3:30 p.m. April 25, at the Bryce Jordan Center.

The showcase, organized by the Learning Factory, will display projects from students in senior capstone design courses in agricultural, bioengineering, computer, computer science, electrical, engineering design, energy, engineering science and mechanics, industrial, material science, mechanical and nuclear engineering.

In addition to the senior capstone projects, first-year students in EDSGN 100 and 130 will display their client-driven design projects, which attempt to solve sustainability and transportation issues relating to University Park campus.

The projects give students exposure to professional industry expectations, technical demands, and problem solving while combining classroom and real-world experience.

Projects are sponsored by industrial clients such as Alcoa, ArcelorMittal, Bechtel Power Corp., Central Pennsylvania Spinal Cord Injury Support Group, Discovery Space of Central Pennsylvania, Exel/The Home Depot, Fedex Express, First Energy, General Motors, Graftech Lockheed Martin, PPL Susquehanna, Shell, The Boeing Company, TPC Design/Penn State Department of Surgery, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Westinghouse and Xerox Corp.
