Smeal’s Ambrose named George Bloom Award winner

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State Smeal College of Business faculty member Brent Ambrose was named the 2016 winner of the George Bloom Award at the January meeting of the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association (AREUEA) in San Francisco.

The award is named for George Bloom, a founding member of AREUEA and its first president (1965-66).

The plaque presented to Ambrose reads: “Presented by the Officers and Directors of the American Real Estate and Urban Economics Association to Brent Ambrose for his outstanding contributions to the field of real estate economics.”

Ambrose, the Smeal Professor of Risk Management, is the director of the Institute for Real Estate Studies and also the director of Smeal’s Ph.D. Program. He joined the Smeal faculty in 2006 and has published more than 55 refereed articles in the field of real estate and finance.
