MCKEESPORT, Pa. – Penn State Greater Allegheny will celebrate BeGreater Scholarship and Leadership Recognition month in April to honor the many contributions students, employees, alumni and friends make to advance the mission of the campus.
The concept for the BeGreater virtual celebration came from Lorraine Craven, director of student services and engagement. Together with her colleagues from the Chancellor’s Office, Academic Affairs, Athletics, Alumni and Stewardship, and Strategic Planning and Communications, the group outlined a month-long celebration, with a weekly spotlight on a different group of award recipients.
“After a year of difficult times, it is so exciting to celebrate the contributions our students, faculty, staff, Alumni and friends have made to our campus,” said Laura King, director of alumni and stewardship. “It is humbling to see the commitment this year to academics, research, student leadership, athletics and philanthropy.”
The recognition categories include:
- University and Campus Scholarship Recipients
- University and Campus Academic Awards and Honor Societies
- Faculty and Staff Awards
- Student Leadership Awards
- Student Athlete Awards
