UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Penn State liberal arts alumnae who have become recognized leaders in their professions will share their stories and provide career advice to students during an upcoming two-day women’s leadership and career development conference.
Penn State Women: Leaders of Today and Tomorrow gives current students a unique opportunity to connect with successful Penn State alumnae through a panel discussion and one-on-one appointments. The conference kicks off with the panel discussion at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 25, in Paterno Library’s Foster Auditorium. During the discussion, alumnae will share their personal success stories and some of the challenges they faced along the way. Nancy Tuana, DuPont/Class of 1949 Professor of Philosophy and Women’s Studies and founding director of the Rock Ethics Institute, will moderate the discussion, which is free and open to the public.
Students will then have a chance to meet individually with up to three alumnae beginning at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 26, by registering on the event website. During the face-to-face meetings, students will be able to share their career and leadership aspirations and get résumé suggestions and interview tips.
