NEW KENSINGTON, Pa. — Penn State New Kensington's innovation hub, The Corner, will be hosting two upcoming virtual workshops that are free and open to the public.
Virtual Lunch and Learn: Hiring in the Current Climate
During this one-hour program, Ken Hicks, founder and CEO of Broadwing and member of The Corner, will cover topics to help potential job seekers navigate a search and interview process in a virtual environment. The discussion topics will include:
- Opportunities presented in the current environment
- The kinds of recruiters one might engage with
- How to present yourself as a candidate
- How to interview from a home environment
- The current hiring temperature;
- Advertising yourself as a candidate
- Digital interviews

Virtual Workshop: To Open or Not to Open?
The COVID-19 pandemic has presented businesses and organizations with new and unique challenges about whether and how to reopen, while minimizing liability and risk.
Attorney Heather Harmon Kennedy will present this one-hour webinar from two perspectives: one of an employer and one of a public-facing business. Topics of discussion will include how to prepare a re-opening plan, update human resources procedures and developing new policies for human interactions. Templates for getting started will also be shared.
