UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — The Social Science Research Institute (SSRI) has announced an invitation for applications from departments across the Penn State system for a co-funded faculty position as part of the Consortium to Combat Substance Abuse (CCSA)

Addressing one of the University’s aims in its Strategic Plan, "Enhancing Health," this request for applications is for the final of 12 strategic tenure track faculty hires. This major Penn State initiative aims to increase capacity for high impact, interdisciplinary, translational, and community-engaged collaborations to address substance use and addiction.

Eligible departments are those that have not yet been awarded a CCSA co-funded faculty position.

Departments interested in submitting a proposal for a SSRI co-funded hire should forward their proposal to the college dean; deans may submit up to two proposals for consideration by the CCSA Advisory Board by April 5. The Advisory Committee will review proposals for final decisions no later than May 10.

This opportunity was developed with the goal of advancing SSRI and CCSA’s strategic hiring aims and to support researchers working to address substance use and addiction. For more information about CCSA and this initiative, visit CCSA's website.
