UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Each year, Penn State honors several undergraduate students for the highest levels of academic excellence, outstanding leadership and meritorious service. The 2024 student award recipients exemplify best practices and achievements among Penn State students, reflecting the University's mission of teaching, research and service. 

This year's Student Awards Recognition Ceremony will take place Sunday, March 17, in Eisenhower Auditorium on the University Park campus. The Student Awards Recognition Ceremony is not open to the public; however, the ceremony will be livestreamed here. 

The award recipients are listed below by category. 

Student achievement awards: 

• Ardeth and Norman Frisbey International Student Award: Daniel Enrique Garcia Calao 

• Astronaut Scholarship Foundation Award: Ian Rivera (*presented in 2023) 

• Goldwater Scholarship Award: Yuki Yoshida and Kueyoung Kim (*presented in 2023) 

• Udall Scholarship Award: Vancie Peacock (*presented in 2023) 

• Eric A. Walker Award: Brandon Bixler 

• Ernest B. McCoy Memorial Award: Makenna Marisa and Olumuyiwa Fashanu 

• Ralph Dorn Hetzel Memorial Award: Samiha Choudhury 

• The Jackson Lethbridge Tolerance Award: Grace Mumo 

• The John W. Oswald Award: Vanessa Dib, Luke Vargas and Jacob Levendosky
