11:30 AM - 12:30 PM / February 09, 2022

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Alina Salganicoff, senior vice president and director of women’s health policy at the Kaiser Family Foundation (KFF), will discuss her career path during a talk at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, on Zoom.

The KFF is a nonprofit organization that conducts nonpartisan policy analysis, polling, and journalism on national health issues. Salganicoff focuses on health policies of importance to women throughout their lifespans, emphasizing coverage and access challenges facing underserved women and sexual and reproductive health.

An expert on women's health policy, Salganicoff has written and lectured extensively on various issues ranging from maternity care and reproductive health services to aging and long-term care. She was appointed to serve on the Institute of Medicine Committee on Women's Health Research and the Committee on Preventive Services for Women that issued recommendations culminating in the requirement for private plans to offer no-cost coverage for preventive health services, including contraceptives, as part of the ACA.

The discussion with Salganicoff is part of the School of Public Policy’s “Profiles” virtual leadership series spotlighting professionals with careers in public policy.
