ABINGTON, Pa. — The Penn State Abington Advisory Board welcomed three new members to serve as informed ambassadors and advocates for the campus and advisers to the chancellor. Feona Singh, senior solutions architect at Ellucian; Mark Singh, a software engineer; and Deborah Slaunwhite, a partner at Asher Slaunwhite + Partners, officially joined at the Sept. 24 meeting.
“I am thrilled to welcome Feona, Mark, and Deborah to the Abington Advisory Board. They bring valuable perspectives from a broad variety of fields including technology, higher education, and architecture, and they represent the diverse community we serve," Chancellor Gary Liguori said.
"I am especially pleased that Mark, who earned his bachelor's degree from Abington, has returned to support our campus, while Deborah and Feona are invested in our mission. The members of the board are looking forward to benefiting from all of their fresh viewpoints," he said.
At Ellucian, Feona Singh serves on the Student Financial Success consulting team tasked with helping colleges and universities meet their recruitment, admissions, and student success goals. She was previously director of admissions at Villanova University School of Law and a training and education specialist with the Law School Admission Council. She earned a bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from St. John’s University, a master’s in higher education administration from Northeastern University, and she is working on a doctorate in leadership studies and technology at the University of the Cumberlands.
Mark Singh is a software engineer with extensive expertise in full-stack development at companies such as NSM Insurance Group and UHS. He served in the Marine Corps, where he honed his technical and leadership skills in high-pressure environments. Mark has mentored junior developers and Penn State students. After earning a bachelor's in information sciences and technology from Abington, he completed a master’s in information technology at Penn State Great Valley. He is working on a doctorate in leadership studies and technology at the University of the Cumberlands.
Deborah Slaunwhite is a partner at Asher Slaunwhite + Partners in nearby Jenkintown where she focuses on residential design primarily in New Jersey beach towns, the Philadelphia region, and beyond. Prior to joining the firm, she worked in historic preservation and residential design in Houston, Boston, central New York state, and Washington, D.C. Slaunwhite currently serves as the vice president of the Philadelphia chapter of the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art. She earned her bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Notre Dame.
