ABINGTON, Pa. — Penn State Abington and Delaware Valley University (DelVal) announced an agreement to create a 4 + 1 pathway program that will allow undergraduate criminal justice majors at Penn State Abington to take up to nine credits of graduate coursework at DelVal during their senior year at Penn State Abington at no additional charge. These students may then complete their master’s degree with up to three additional years of study (21 credits) at DelVal’s prevailing tuition rates.

“Our institutions are delighted to offer a rigorous program designed to serve the best interests of our students. Criminal justice degrees can lead to many in-demand careers right here in the greater Philadelphia area, and this program offers qualified students an affordable option to achieve their goals close to home,” said Nicole Stokes, interim vice chancellor for Academic Affairs at Penn State Abington.

“We are delighted to launch this partnership with Penn State Abington and welcome their qualified undergraduate criminal justice students to complete their master’s degrees at DelVal,” said Joseph Paris, dean of the School of Graduate and Professional Studies at DelVal. “Many students plan to earn a master’s degree in their field, and this articulation agreement allows them to start earning their advanced degree in their senior year of undergraduate study, saving them both time and money.”

Requirements for admission to the pathway program include a minimum grade-point average. The application, information on Penn State Abington’s criminal justice major and DelVal's master of arts degree in criminal justice are available online.
