WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. – Pennsylvania College of Technology has appointed Andrea M. Campbell assistant dean of curriculum & instruction in Academic Affairs.
Campbell officially began her duties on May 13. Her primary responsibilities include oversight of curriculum and instruction processes, faculty professional-development initiatives, new-faculty development and the First Year Experience course.
Campbell joined Penn College as an adjunct faculty member teaching English composition in August 2018. She became a full-time instructor of English composition and technical communication in Fall 2019 and was promoted to assistant professor in Fall 2023, while also teaching some history courses. Campbell has also taught social studies at Williamsport Area Middle School and English at Jersey Shore Area Senior High School.
She has also held various administrative/teaching positions with the Lycoming County Historical Society, Lycoming College and Mission One, Williamsport.
Campbell holds a Doctor of Education in educational leadership: curriculum and instruction from Wilkes University; a Master of Arts in history from the University of Nebraska Kearney; a Bachelor of Arts in history from Ashford University, Clinton, Iowa; and post-baccalaureate teaching certification from Lycoming College.
“Andrea brings a strong understanding of curriculum development and design, as well as best practices in instruction, to this important role,” said Joanna K. Flynn, the college’s vice president for academic affairs and provost. “I’m excited to see how she will advance our work in the areas of faculty development, curriculum and the First Year Experience course.”
Campbell’s community affiliations include serving on the Board of Governors and Executive and Marketing committees for the Lycoming County Historical Society and Thomas T. Taber Museum; serving as vice president for the North Central Chapter of the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology; and serving on the Board of Directors’ Awards Committee for the Society for Pennsylvania Archaeology.
