Life at Berks

At Penn State Berks, you’ll have a variety of opportunities to get involved and develop leadership skills, whether through an entrepreneurship program, athletics, or access to one-of-a-kind labs not found elsewhere in the region.

Collaboration defines our campus culture. Every year, occupational therapy students work with engineering peers to create devices for people with disabilities. Then, business students develop marketing strategies for these innovations. Cultivating teamwork, problem-solving skills prepares students for successful careers.

Join our campus sustainability efforts. You can learn about invasive pest control, composting methods, and native plants, and participate in our food composting program to reduce landfill waste. Explore our gardens and habitats supporting diverse wildlife—all part of our commitment to environmental stewardship.

Berks Benefitting THON is one of the most active student organizations on campus, raising over $27,000 in the 2023-24 academic year to fight pediatric cancer.

When you need to de-stress, visit Thun Library’s sensory room. Featuring specialized equipment, furniture, and lighting, it is designed to calm the nervous system, increase feelings of safety, and reduce stress and anxiety.

The newly renovated Beaver Athletics and Wellness Center offers state-of-the-art weightlifting and cardio equipment for your workout. At the Beaver Center, you can cheer on our division III athletic teams. If you prefer the outdoors, enjoy our sports fields on campus.

Grab a bite at Tully’s, the premier campus dining facility, featuring daily specials, sandwiches, soups, salads, pasta, pizza, and more. Campus also offers two additional eateries with Starbucks coffee, Penn State Berkey Creamery ice cream, and other snacks and drinks.

Expand your horizons through courses that offer embedded travel to destinations like Mexico, France, England, Portugal, and Curaçao. Students have additional travel opportunities through Penn State Global and Alternative Spring Break service trips.

Berks supports hundreds of student internships annually, helping students gain valuable real-world experience. Our students often secure spots in competitive programs like those at Google, the White House, and JPMorgan Chase.
